About Advanced Substrate Technologies Pte. Ltd.
We are a Singapore-based subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., a Japanese pioneer in printing technologies and a leading supplier of high-quality Flip Chip Ball Grid Array (FC-BGA) substrates. We are the first factory in Singapore to pioneer the manufacturing of high-end FC-BGA substrates used in cutting-edge semiconductor products such as network switches and artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) devices.
Additionally, our facility will conduct research and development (R&D) aimed at advancing substrate technologies to meet the evolving performance requirements of future products in these domains. Broadcom Inc., a global technology leader specializing in semiconductor design, enterprise software, and security solutions, is also actively supporting the establishment of this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Singapore.

Company Overview
Our AST R&D team is on a mission to transform AI and develop groundbreaking hardware. We’re creating innovative solutions for tighter, quicker, and more dependable integration of processing and memory, moving beyond the limitations of current substrate technologies. We leverage cutting-edge semiconductor processing technologies, including Chemical Mechanical Planarization, to produce high-performance substrates with 10x increase in interconnect density, paving the way for packages with up to a trillion transistors.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily machinery setup & check with dedicated checklist.
- Manage different machinery settings competently to correspond to different product programs.
- Perform machinery (and tool) routine inspections on a periodic basis.
- Prepare raw material and/or chemicals (during production runs) that are required for the dedicated process(es).
- Conduct inspection (during production runs) on input material to ensure integrity of material is not compromised.
- Conduct fundamental quality checks (during production runs) on output products to ensure quality standards/requirement is met.
- Perform data-entry/logging activities to ensure proper documentation of production process(es).
- Conduct work-in-progress checks using machinery inline monitoring system(s).
- Communicate quality and/or machinery issue(s) timely to the supervisor.
- Perform tool switch, program change and/or other necessary machinery procedures when switching product types.
- Conduct periodic switch/replacement of machinery consumables.
- Provide support to scheduled machinery maintenance works.
- Operate multiple machinery runs simultaneously, when necessary.
- Support production runs (pre-trained) at other functional manufacturing areas, when necessary.
- Perform 5S activities and maintain care for dedicated work-areas.
- Participate in handover briefing during the start and end of each working shift.
- Participate in shopfloor Quality and/or Continuous Improvement activities (e.g. Gemba walk), when applicable.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager, to support team and organization goals.
Job Requirements
Professional Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Certification in chemical handling.
- Certification in manufacturing safety & hazard awareness.
- Certification in Quality inspection/assurance training.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Fundamental competency in Microsoft Office software – Excel, Word, etc.
- Familiarisation with Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Professional experience(s) with the semiconductor industry.
- Experience in chemical handling.
- Experience in handing precision measurement and/or inspection instrument.
Competencies:
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English at work.
- Ability to learn promptly with On-The-Job-Training (OJT).
- Ability to perform under pressure at work.
- Ability to support/guide peers at work.
