About Advanced Substrate Technologies Pte. Ltd.
We are a Singapore-based subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., a Japanese pioneer in printing technologies and a leading supplier of high-quality Flip Chip Ball Grid Array (FC-BGA) substrates. We are the first factory in Singapore to pioneer the manufacturing of high-end FC-BGA substrates used in cutting-edge semiconductor products such as network switches and artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) devices.
Additionally, our facility will conduct research and development (R&D) aimed at advancing substrate technologies to meet the evolving performance requirements of future products in these domains. Broadcom Inc., a global technology leader specializing in semiconductor design, enterprise software, and security solutions, is also actively supporting the establishment of this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Singapore.
About the role
As a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process. Your role involves designing and implementing quality control systems, conducting regular inspections, and analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement. You collaborate closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications. Additionally, you may lead the development of testing procedures, manage audits, and oversee corrective actions for non-conformities. Your focus is on maintaining product integrity, optimizing manufacturing efficiency, and delivering consistent, high-quality products to customers.
Responsibilities
Establishing and improving our quality management system:
- Engage in establishing the quality management system, including standardization in order to obtain and maintain certification for quality management such as ISO9001 and IATF16949, and improving the system.
Management of documents:
- With respect to a document management system, carry out its maintenance including upgrading of the system, and registration/ deletion of its users, to ensure the system can operate securely.
Process control:
- Perform the operation of process control using SPC and other systems, and if deviation from a control standard occurs, investigate the causes, take corrective action, and appropriately deal with lots to ensure consistent quality production.
Control of external providers:
- Monitor the quality of suppliers (of components and materials) and subcontractors (of outsourced processing), and if a quality abnormality occurs, give directions to correct it. In addition, conduct an audit on a regular basis to observe the status of correction actions taken.
Change control:
- Where any changes need to be made in equipment, production conditions, process standards, etc. for a mass-produced product, submit a change request to customers in accordance with change control procedures and obtain approval from the customers.
Control of chemicals in products:
- Conduct a periodic detailed (precision) analysis to ensure that the products do not contain any prohibited substances specified by RoHS, REACH, etc., and create non-use certificates and other documents as required by customers.
Customer support:
- In the event of receiving a complaint or returns due to a quality defect at a customer,investigate the causes, implement measures, and prepare 8D reports to be submitted to the customer.
- Aggregate process control data according to a customer request and prepare its report.
- Additionally, compile a report on what is requested by a customer.
Process improvement:
- Analyze defective products generated in the process and implement appropriate measures according to the causes of the defect to reduce the amount of loss to be caused by the defect.
- Monitor process capability (Cpk), investigate the causes for low process capability and implement measures to prevent deviation from the control standard.
Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager, as required to support the team and organizational goals.

- Permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week
Job Requirements
Professional qualifications:
- Holding a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing technology or associated fields.
- It is favourable (promising) if having experiences of similar roles in a quality assurance or quality control department at a semiconductor related manufacturer.
- Having experiences of working as an engineer at a manufacturing plant is favorable.
Expertise and skills:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation.
- A basic knowledge of quality management systems (IATF, ISO, etc.)
- A basic knowledge of environmental management systems
- Having knowledge of occupational safety and health is desirable.
- It is desirable to be familiar with chemical regulations (laws, SDS, GHS).
- A basic understanding of business continuity plans (BCP)
- A basic understanding of statistical control methods
- A basic understanding of statistical control methods
Competency:
- Able to listen effectively and to act appropriately in response to instructions given.
- Able to report necessary information, such as problems and production progress, to managers.
- Capable of making recommendations for improvement plans to managers.
- Capable of formulating a hypothesis about the factor based on the defective event and making a proposal for improvement.
- It is desirable if having experiences of being audited by customers or of auditing suppliers.
- Able to grasp customer’s need precisely and deploy and coordinate with relevant departments to fulfil them.
Attributes:
- Higher interpersonal ability and communication skills are essential for working with multiple divisions and departments.
- A cooperative personality is preferred.
Others:
- Normally, work the day shift on weekdays, but may be required to work on holidays as directed by your supervisor.
- May be required to work in a clean room environment.
Salary range: SGD4,500~7,500
